A harmonious fusion of Chinese, Malay, and Indonesian culinary traditions, Peranakan cuisine is a distinctive culinary art that blends the aromatic herbs and spices of Southeast Asia with the refined techniques of Chinese cooking, resulting in an extraordinary gastronomic experience steeped in history and tradition.
Encapsulating the heart and soul of Peranakan cuisine, The Lobby Lounge presents the treasured Babi Pongteh in April, a quintessential Nyonya-style braised pork dish. The indulgent creation features tender, slow-cooked Kurobuta pork belly, shiitake mushrooms, and taucu - fermented yellow soybean paste - infused with rich, savoury flavours.
Accompanying the Babi Pongteh, are Steamed Jasmine Rice and Achar, a medley of pickled vegetables, all elegantly presented in the traditional 'tingkat' style.
