This International Women’s Day, InterContinental Singapore invites guests to celebrate the spirit of trailblazing women with curated experiences at The Lobby Lounge and LUCE.
From 3 to 9 March 2025, The Lobby Lounge presents a curated cocktail crafted to honour women's rights activist Checha Davies and her legacy of empowerment and progress, while LUCE invites ladies to raise toast to the occasion with an exclusive Aperol Spritz offering – all ladies enjoying the buffet may indulge in 2-hours of bottomless Aperol Spritz at $3.80++ per person, celebrating the vibrance and unity of women worldwide.
TRAILBLAZING AT THE LOBBY LOUNGE
Commence the celebrations at The Lobby Lounge with the Trailblazer ($24++), crafted by Head Mixologist Rhodora Amurao. Inspired by Singapore’s own icon, Checha Davies, a pioneering advocate for women’s right, this cocktail is a tribute to women who dare to break boundaries.
Checha Davies, a Kerala-born Singaporean social worker, played a pivotal role in advancing women's rights and social reforms in Singapore. In the 1950s, she championed legal changes and advocated for the education and welfare of underprivileged women. As a key member of the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), she fought for safe housing for foreign female workers and co-founded multiple organisations dedicated to women's civil rights, leaving an enduring legacy as a fearless trailblazer.
In celebration of her legacy, Rhodora has reimagined Kerela’s popular fizzy drink, the spicy and tangy Fuljar Soda and concocted the Trailblazer. Using Jaisalmer gin, a premium Indian spirit known for its delicate balance of botanicals, enhanced by the heat of fresh green chilli and the earthy warmth of ginger root. Sabja seeds for their refreshing texture—add a subtle, aromatic complexity, while the lime adds a zest. Lastly, crowned with a mint leaf, adding a final touch of freshness. Creamy, herbaceous, and fizzy, the Trailblazer pays homage to a woman who fought fearlessly for the women’s rights in Singapore.

At LUCE, guests are invited to immerse themselves in a lively week-long celebration where ladies can enjoy two hours of bottomless Aperol Spritz for just $3.80++ per person while enjoying the sumptuous buffet selection - a symbolic gesture honouring International Women’s Day on 8 March. The exclusive offer is available from 3 to 9 March, for lunch and dinner buffet, except on Sunday Brunch.
Guests are also invited to indulge in LUCE’s new thematic buffet experience, recently launched in February, celebrating the rich flavours of Southeast Asia, highlighting Vietnam, Thailand, and China alongside LUCE’s signature Italian specialties.
From the aromatic spices of Thai dishes like Gang Massaman Nuae and Phad See Ew Talay to the soulful charm of Chinese classics such as Kung Pao Grouper Fillet and Wok-fried Mala Beef, every meal is a celebration of flavour. On select days, savour Vietnamese favourites such as Chạo Tôm Nướng Mía (sugarcane prawns) and Bò Kho (beef stew). Complementing these themes is LUCE’s Italian buffet lineup, featuring the Pinsa La Margherita Classica, a Roman-style flatbread adorned with
mozzarella, tomato sauce, and fragrant fresh basil, or indulge in the luxurious Taglierini ai Funghi e Tartufo, where handmade pasta is complemented by sautéed winter mushrooms, tiger prawns, and a whisper of truffle essence.
