The Winter Solstice, a time of reflection and reunion, is marked by the gathering of loved ones and the enjoyment of luxurious, comforting dishes that symbolise warmth and prosperity.
Thoughtfully crafted by Executive Chinese Chef Aaron Tan and available for dining at Man Fu Yuan from 1 December 2025, highlights include the Deep-Fried Marinated Iberico Pork Belly with Fermented Red Bean Curd (香酥南乳西班牙三层豚肉, $36 per portion), featuring tender, flavourful pork with a crisp, golden exterior and a subtle umami sweetness, and Prawn Dumplings with Chives, Minced Pork, Bamboo Shoots, and Mala Sauce (三鲜明虾韭菜饺子,麻辣酱伴, $22 per portion), where juicy seafood, aromatic herbs, and a hint of spice create a lively start to the meal.
The mains are a celebration of indulgence and seasonal refinement. Braised Crocodile Meat with Chinese Herbs, Ginger and Garlic (红烧药膳酒香鳄鱼肉, $68 per portion) offers a delicately flavoured, tender meat enriched with aromatic spices, while Cantonese Braised Beef Brisket with Beef Tendon, Radish, Celery, and Bean Curd Stick (粤式柱侯酱焖牛腩煲, $46 per portion) provides a hearty, melt-in-the-mouth experience layered with savoury depth.
Braised Spinach with Pumpkin and Chinese Yam in Superior Sauce (上汤淮山金瓜浸菠菜, $26 per potion) balances vibrant greens with velvety, naturally sweet pumpkin and tender yam, and Braised Winter Melon with Crab Meat, Shredded Conpoy, Egg White and Tobiko (瑶柱蛋白蟹肉烩冬瓜,鱼子, $42 per portion) delivers a harmonious medley of textures and delicate seafood flavours.
The meal concludes on a comforting and festive note with the Sweet Ginger Soup with Osmanthus Flower and Duo Glutinous Rice Ball (姜汁桂花露汇鸳鸯汤圆, $18 per person), a fragrant and warming dessert where silky ginger broth and floral osmanthus complement soft, chewy rice balls, capturing the essence of reunion and the joyous spirit of the Winter Solstice.
